World Harp Congress (WHC)

The World Harp Congress, Inc. a private international non-profit organization for harpists and those interested in the harp, was founded in 1981 as an outgrowth of the International Harpweeks held in The Netherlands for twenty years under the leadership of Phia Berghout and Maria Korchinska.

Anyone can join. Membership includes the World Harp Congress Review, published twice a year with news from over 50 countries, the Membership Directory, advance notice of Congresses, reduced registration fees for Congresses, discount on harp insurance, Youth Ambassadors' Forum, and the Focus on Youth Concerts.
Every three years, the World Harp Congress (WHC) is held in a different country. The Tenth World Harp Congress held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, included the largest and longest harp ensembles ever, setting a new record in the Guinness Book of World Records. Concerts, workshops, master classes, and seminars concerning all aspects of harp musicology and performance are offered at these triennial sessions. Special Focus on Youth concerts feature young talents selected from around the world.

The Thirteenth World Harp Congress will be held in Hong Kong, China, in July 2017.
