Cincinnati is a major American city
with first-class attractions, historic neighborhoods, lovely parks
and a rich heritage. Located amidst the gently rolling hills of
the Ohio River valley, greater Cincinnati spreads from the southwestern
corner of Ohio into northern Kentucky and southeastern Indiana.
Cincinnati is no more than a 2-hour drive from Dayton and Columbus,
OH, Louisville and Lexington, KY and Indianapolis, IN.
The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory
of Music was created in 1955 with the merger of the College of Music
(founded in 1878) and the Conservatory of Music (founded in 1867).
The fall of 1999 will mark the completion of CCM's seven-year project
to renovate existing buildings and construct new facilities. Along
with five state-of-the-art performance spaces, the CCM complex includes
the Gorno Memorial Music Library, the Dieterle Vocal Arts Center,
a theatre production wing, dance studios, electronic media facilities,
teaching studios, classrooms, practice rooms and rehearsal spaces.
CCM is just a small portion of the University of Cincinnati campus.
UC also has a brand new convention center/hotel on the adjacent
Medical School campus.
