A. Conference Handbook
- The Chairman should be the previous Conference Chairman who
should update the Handbook to include any points which are not
covered in the current version of the Conference Handbook. Such
additions or corrections should be sent as soon as possible to
the Executive Secretary so that they can be put in the computer.
Any important examples of printed materials for the Conference
should also be submitted at the same time. There should be at
least four current Handbooks. The master copy to remain in the
Society office, the other copies to be used by the AHS President
and the next two Conference Chairmen.
B. National
Conference Coordinator(**) - to produce a National
Conference on even-numbered years and a Student Summer Institute
on odd-numbered years, both of which will have high musical quality
and educational value. (**)same person
C. National Conference
Evaluations - The evaluator prepares and distributes
an evaluation form to all persons who attend the AHS Conference.
The results are gathered, tabulated, and distributed to the past
and future Conference Chairpersons, the Conference Group Coordinator,
and the Executive Committee. The objective of a conference evaluation
is to assist immediate past and future chairmen with important
guidelines/suggestions for future conferences.
D. National Exhibits
- to coordinate with the next Conference Exhibit Chairman in order
to provide continuity in national exhibits.
E. Summer Institute - Focused on the student harpist with classes
of interests for harp teachers as well as students, the Institute
is held biennially alternating with the American Harp Society
National Conference. Professional harpists offer workshops on
repertoire, ensemble playing, preparation for competitions/auditions,
etc.
