Founded in 1876, MTNA membership provides access to many networking, leadership, mentoring and educational opportunities with the very best music teachers throughout the United States. MTNA member benefits include networking at the national, state and local levels, regular opportunities for professional development, competitive and non-competitive performance opportunities for students of all ages and levels of ability, a subscription to the American Music Teacher magazine and MTNA e-journal, discounted prices on MTNA conference and workshop registration and publications, as well as many other services for the a seasoned professional or new teacher.  Active member dues at the national level are $65 a year. Members must also belong to a state association and in some cases a local or district association.
